How it actually works We use something called short-wave infrared. Now, a regular heater just warms up the air. This is different. These lamps reach deep into wet surfaces. When you flip the switch, the heat pushes moisture right out of your porous grout and tiles. It’s a fast, aggressive evaporation process. You aren’t just warming the room; you’re drying the bones of the bathroom. Fighting the mold battle Mold is simple. It needs a place to eat and a lot of dampness. By using a specific type of light spectrum, these lamps act like a backup dehumidifier. They flash-dry those annoying “micro-zones”—the corners and ceiling joints where steam likes to hang out. It happens way faster than a standard exhaust fan can pull the air out. If the surface is dry, the mold can’t root. Simple as that. The catch Here’s the thing: the lamp can’t do everything. If your bathroom has zero ventilation, you’ve got a problem. The lamp will dry your walls, sure, but that moisture has to go somewhere. If there’s no vent, it just stays in the air.
